Complicated weather conditions in 2016. A year that began with torrential rain and hail, punctuated by periods of frost in April and May…Fortunately, it ended with mild temperatures and even very dry weather from mid-August. The harvest was carried out in the sunshine.
These conditions lead to fluctuating qualities, but even in difficult years, when the quality allows, it can be called a great vintage.
The 2016 opens with very ripe citrus on the nose, mixed with sweet brioche.Quite charming, pleasant and balanced. On the palate, the twist is there: first the sweet ripe citrus, then a yellow fruity finish. Everything suddenly shifts to a striking, chalky salinity, which leaves a deep mineral trace on the tongue.
